It's a quiet morning, and a gentle sway rocks you back and forth in your cabin. Peering out through your porthole, just a few feet above the waterline, you watch the ripples moving across the calm bay. Your eyes follow a single crevice in the surface as it meanders outward, eventually losing track as it merges into the vast, endless sea.
Rising from bed, you slip into a dry swimsuit while brushing your teeth. As you open your cabin door and head toward the galley, the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingles with the sweetness of tropical fruit filling the air. Early risers are already on deck, soaking in the morning's serenity. You smile, offering a friendly greeting, and then, almost instinctively, make your way to the edge of the boat. Without hesitation, you dive in. Moments later, you find yourself with a cup of coffee while laying on the bow of catamaran, drying off in the rising sun. Excitement washes over you as it is only 8:00 am and you know you have a full day of excitement ahead of you.
What is a charter?
A crewed sailing charter is a fantastic hassle-free method to enjoy a unique vacation where an experienced crew takes care of the navigation, operation, and day-to-day tasks aboard your journey. A crewed charter comes with a professional Sailing Collective hospitality-trained captain who handle all the logistics of your adventure allowing you to focus entirely on relaxation and adventure.
Here’s what makes a crewed sailing charter special:
The Crew: The crew includes a captain, who works with you to build the itinerary, navigates and handles the technical aspects of sailing, and a chef who manages meals, drinks, and hospitality. On Sailing Collective, crew are not behind the scenes, our philosophy of hospitality is progressive and they take an active role in curating the travel experience.
Customized Itineraries: Your journey is tailored to your preferences. You can choose to island-hop, explore secluded coves, or visit bustling harbors—your crew will design a route that matches your interests—weather premitting.
Comfort: Crewed charters often feature spacious, well-appointed cabins, insatiable meals using locally sourced ingredients, and intimate service, ensuring exceptional experience on the water. For private charters, we match you with a vessel that fits your budget whether that is low or high, we always offer our honest assessment.
Activities: We believe in connecting with the places we explore through meaningful interactions with the communities and landscapes. Your crew will offer insight in these places and provide a multitude of unique activities, from dinning at local restaurants to exploring hidden caves along the coast.

The Sailing Collective organization do not manage or own the charter yachts. We are certified yacht brokers with partners we work hand in hand with worldwide. Our crew are the Sailing Collective representatives in the location working on your behalf during your course of the charter.
Group Travel vs. Private Charter
What is Group Travel?
Group Travel are seasonally scheduled book-by-the-cabin travel experiences with over 20 unique departures throughout the year. This is an opportunity for you to book a single or a double cabin aboard a catamaran crewed by the Sailing Collective team. These are private cabins with ensuite washrooms and the catamarans range from three to six cabins with a total passenger count of between five and ten. The cost of the package is inclusive of onboard meals, your crew, private cabin, etc., and what is not included is crew gratuity, beverage package, land activities, and travel.
Cabin Types:
Single Cabins: Ideal for solo travelers, these private cabins offer a cozy space with a comfortable full-sized bed just for you with an ensuite facility.
Double Cabins: Ideal for couples or friends willing to share, these cabins come with a double bed with room to share.
What is a Private Crewed Charter?
A crewed private sailing charter takes your travel experience to the next level by offering complete exclusivity for you and your group. It’s like having a floating boutique hotel, tailored to your desires, where the entire yacht and crew are dedicated solely to your comfort and enjoyment. Private charters ideal for groups of friends and perfect for a family vacation. 12 passengers is the max capacity and we can arrange a 'flotilla' up to 10 boats.

Onboard Catering
What is the food like? Simply put, outstanding. Sailing Collective takes a different approach than traditional yacht charters where your chefs are labeled and 'stewardess' and receive 'yacht charter cooking courses'. The Sailing Collective on the other hand hires culinary artists devoted to sourcing fresh, local, and unique ingredients and build a bespoke menu tailored to your taste and preferences daily.

IS A SAILING CHARTER FOR YOU?
Spending a week aboard a sailing charter can be life-changing, offering the freedom to explore parts of the world you might never otherwise see. But it’s not for everyone—so please do your research. Talk with friends who have done similar trips, and ask us for honest feedback. If we think another type of travel is a better fit, we’ll say so.
Every charter, unless it’s a half-million-dollar super-yacht, has a rustic element—like going to a lake house or a remote island. Maintenance issues can happen, though most weeks run smoothly. If something does occur, your captain will address it or arrange help from the base.
If you expect a luxury-hotel experience, consider a three-crew charter starting around $40,000–$80,000 per week. Our goal is to provide a genuine, welcoming experience with honest expectations understood in advnace. Flexibility and an open mind are key to enjoying life aboard. If you’d like an unbiased perspective, many of our regular guests are happy to share their experiences.
The truth is, these voyages aren’t for everyone. While we genuinely believe that anyone can have a transformational experience on a sailing voyage, let’s make sure that’s true for you before you commit.

Crew Introductions
You will be introduced to your captain and chef two to four weeks prior to your departure date. Guest forms are provided to the crew as soon as they are submitted, and the Sailing Collective team keeps the crew updated on all pre-voyage planning communications. Captains and chefs are often busy with charters, and we want them to remain focused on providing excellent service. For this reason, we ask that all questions and planning be directed through SC Travel Coordinators. Rest assured, your requests will be thoroughly reviewed by your crew. They can’t wait to meet you!
Water Toys
There are a variety of water toys we can rent during your charter. Water toys are an extra and we will get a quote for you before confirming. Make your request with the Sailing Collective Travel Coordinator in advance and you will be billed at the completion of the charter.
